Today, almost 80% of domestic chopstick production is in Wakasa region, Fukui.

"Wakasa" is a region in the southwest part of Fukui Prefecture.

Wakasa lacquer chopsticks (Wakasa-nuri-bashi) are one of Japan's traditional crafts dating back to the early Edo period (1603~1690) in Obama City, Fukui.

Our manufacturer is the only one in Fukui that carries out the entire process of making chopsticks, from basic manufacturing to designing, coating, and finishing.

Our manufacturing plant was founded in 1920 in Wakasa region, Fukui. They retains traditional Wakasa lacquering while creating new value by using the latest machinery and enduring craftsmanship.
